Director Of Long Term Care And Personal Care Homes

Reporting to the Senior Director, Primary Health Care and Community Services, the
Director, Long Term Care (LTC) and Personal Care Homes (PCH) will be a member of
the leadership team in the Central Zone and will be accountable for providing
leadership, vison and strategic direction to the LTC and PCH teams within the Central
Zone of NL Health Services.
The Director will be accountable for providing team-based leadership and
collaboration with the PCH Owners/Operators in the Central Zone. Ensuring NLHS
oversight and monitoring team partner with the PCH team to ensure compliance with
the Personal Care Home Operational Standards. The Director will be accountable for
promoting excellence in resident care and for providing leadership and strategic
direction for initiatives within the LTC and PCH sites and in the zone. The director will
support sound financial management through accurate business planning and
forecasting within operational mandates.
The Director will work collaboratively with other leaders and programs within NLHS,
Physicians, the Department of Health and Community Services, and other internal and
external partners, and the senior executive team to promote the integration of
services across the continuum, support healthier citizens, and address the needs of
the community while maintaining system sustainability. This will require leading
changes, establishing collaborative relationships and effectively communicating with
all stakeholders on a regional, provincial and national level. The Director will be
committed to safety and partner with all team members to improve employee and
patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and
implementing improvements. The successful candidate must demonstrate an
awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting people and family
centered care

Required qualifications:
• A graduate degree in a health-related or administrative discipline
• Current professional registration and/or licensure within discipline, if
• Five years progressive management experience
• Knowledge of best practices, provincial and national standards, legislation,
and regulations relevant to the program areas.

• Candidates must be adept at working collaboratively in a team environment
while also displaying independence, initiative and enterprise
▪ Class 05 driver’s license and the ability to travel.
▪ A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this
position.
▪ A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
