We are seeking a high-performing Environmental Project Manager to lead field and office-based construction, remediation, and reclamation projects across Northern BC and Alberta. Leading multidisciplinary teams, you will oversee the full project lifecycle to deliver on client commitments—on time, within scope, and on budget. In this role, you are directly accountable for protecting brand and financial performance, supervising field staff, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Plan, coordinate, and manage environmental field programs, including construction monitoring, remediation/reclamation projects, and First Nations/industry pre-engagement assessments.
- Financial Management: Track project financial performance to deliver 95% of projects on schedule and within 5% of budget. Target a minimum 40% project gross margin, execute bi-weekly WIP adjustments, and mitigate scope creep via active Change Order (CO) and RFI management.
- Operations & Productivity: Maintain a minimum bi-weekly billable rate of 70%, with the remaining 30% dedicated to staff mentoring, process development, and office duties.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as a key point of contact, ensuring client status report satisfaction averages at least 8/10. Support business development through client engagement and proposal preparation.
- Team Leadership: Supervise environmental field staff, subcontractors, and employees. Lead team and safety meetings, conduct Goal Setting and Review (GSR) meetings, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
- Data & Systems Management: Maintain 100% daily data entry across corporate platforms, including Harvest (time/expense), FieldShare (PM system), WorkHub (H&S), and SharePoint (document control).
Who You Are:
- Professional Designation: Valid professional designation (e.g., P.Biol., R.P.Bio., P.Ag., P.Eng.) or immediate eligibility for registration in BC.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Certifications: PMP certification (or actively working towards it) is highly desirable.
- Environmental Consulting: 5+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience, including fieldwork, data interpretation, technical writing, and reporting.
- Construction Project Management: 5+ years of experience managing projects specifically within the construction industry (from planning to completion).
- Sector Expertise: Proven track record in the BC oil & gas or northern Canadian resource sector, with a strong working knowledge of provincial/federal regulations and regional Indigenous restoration frameworks.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with modern project management, time-tracking, and document control software.
- Logistics: Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork.
