KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- General welding repairs on trailers, trucks, and custom equipment
- Perform custom fabrication of truck, trailer, and heavy equipment components to meet customer specifications
- Perform welding repair inspections and time estimates on road equipment
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine requirements
- Complete Structural Welding
- Customize mobile equipment and/or parts as per the customer's request
- Provide welding support primarily in the shop and occasionally in the field
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
- Develop a welding repair process with the Service Manager
- Work in a safe manner and follow all safety rules and guidelines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
As a member of the Summit Truck and Equipment Repair team, we expect you to bring the following to the table:
- Journeyman Red Seal Welder certification
- 1-2 years of experience in commercial truck and trailer welding repairs
- Team player who can share his/her knowledge by teaching and coaching junior employees
- Ability to work safely in a challenging environment with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving ability
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding duties
- Must be computer literate and have the ability to learn new programs
- Demonstrate and promote work-safe practices
POSITION BENEFITS
- 4 on / 4 off rotation with 11-hour day shifts. No night shifts!
- $30 - $39/hour based on experience.
