The Senior Process Engineer will be part of an engineering team providing engineering services and/or field support. The role focuses on client liaison, ensuring project alignment with business and financial objectives, and overseeing the development and execution of process solutions across various plant systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and develop solutions in all areas of the process plant across various systems, unit operations, and process equipment.
• Act as Lead Process Engineer on specific assignments, coordinating the process engineering team, ensuring deliverables meet scope, schedule, budget, and Hatch quality standards.
• Develop process engineering deliverables, solve infield problems, and participate in execution and commissioning.
• Maintain high‑level understanding of the project’s environmental, community, business, and financial aspects to guide client and PM decisions.
• Perform process engineering tasks on mineral processing projects across various commodities.
• Operate with full competence and independence in design calculations, criteria, equipment lists, and calculations.
• Develop new criteria/calculations where required, maintaining high accuracy.
• Provide frequent training, guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.
• Engage with clients to understand project requirements; define process scope, technology selection, block flow diagram, unit operations.
• Compile Process Flow Diagrams, mass and energy balance calculations; undertake trade‑off studies; identify, scope and manage process test work.
• Conduct capacity analysis for existing plants; select equipment; carry out design and sizing calculations.
• Prepare specifications of process attributes for equipment and compile process datasheets.
• Design process control logic, compile P&IDs, support control philosophies.
• Ensure process specifications and equipment bids meet design intent and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other discipline engineers to conform designs to process requirements.
• Contribute to hazard studies, operating cost estimates, capital cost estimates, project reports.
• Lead site commissioning of new equipment and process systems.
• Participate in proposal development and business‑development initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Mineral Processing.
• Minimum 10 years of extensive design, commissioning, and/or operational experience in mineral processing equipment (comminution, flotation, DMS, gravity separation, screening, thickening, filtration).
• Experience in scoping and managing metallurgical test‑work programs (benchscale, pilot scale, on‑site testing).
• Experience in modelling mineral processing equipment and systems.
• Robust client focus and strong ability to lead engineering tasks within budget and schedule, mentor junior staff, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in concentrator design for commodities such as gold, lithium, nickel, copper, PGMs, lead, zinc, mineral sands.

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $115,000 – $165,000 (CAD).
