ABOUT THE ROLE
Guided by the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation, this unique program integrates the social enterprise Team Werks Co-op within a comprehensive vocational framework, offering clients the opportunity to quickly engage in meaningful work while exploring employment, productivity, and educational goals. The role involves developing individualized vocational treatment plans connecting clients to clinical and community supports, conducting situational assessments, facilitating supported work placements, providing employment counseling and job coaching, supporting community job development and placement, and offering opportunities for clients to participate in the Team Werks Co-op, enabling progress through a personalized continuum of services.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
- Post secondary education in social services rehabilitation or related field or five or more years of experience providing employment supports or vocational rehabilitation services
Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of current vocational programs and services provided locally and in Northwestern Ontario by federal, provincial, municipal agencies, private, and non-profit agencies
- Working knowledge of Principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and the Recovery philosophy
- Working knowledge of current theories and principles of vocational rehabilitation for people with serious mental illness
- Sound knowledge of basic business principles and/or experience working in a business environment
- Working knowledge of major mental illnesses their symptoms treatment strategies/modalities and effect on social/vocational functioning
- Awareness of psychotropic medication and potential side effects particularly as they may affect vocational or educational potential
- Excellent communication, leadership, critical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to people-centered care
- Computer proficiency, including Word and Windows, email communication and electronic documentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Assets:
Experience with the safe and proper operation of industrial equipment
Ability to operate a 3-ton truck
Valid Ontario Driver's License: Class G
Certification in Standard First Aid
Conditions of Employment:
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
- Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
