Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer, Sudbury, Ontario

• Provide project management, design, and construction support services.
• Develop and review mechanical requirements including scope, costing, and scheduling for projects.
• Perform and review, detailed mechanical engineering tasks including calculations, specifications, drawings, datasheets, layouts, etc...) from concept to detailed engineering.
• Ensure all work designed, specified, supplied and manufactured complies with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in client meetings and represent the project’s mechanical requirements.
• Promote and participate in business development to grow our Mechanical Building Sciences portfolio.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical engineering with a minimum of 8 years’ experience.
• P.Eng. designation is mandatory.
• Knowledge and solid understanding of:
  • Industry and regulatory codes including Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA.
  • Mechanical calculations (heat loss/gain, ventilation, hydraulic calculations, sanitary system calculations).
  • Mechanical specifications for ducting, piping, fire protection and other mechanical building services.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must have exceptional written and oral communications skills with the ability to convey detailed technical information to managers, clients and peers.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, take and provide direction from others to ensure the supply of quality deliverables.
• Experience with the design of Fire protection systems and mechanical building services design experience is a plus.
