Site Description:
Maryvale is a longstanding children’s mental health treatment centre in Windsor, Ontario, providing specialized care and support for youth and families. The site features a campus-style environment focused on safety, wellbeing, privacy, and compassionate community-based services
Key responsibilities:
- Patrol Campus Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of campus premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
- Inspect and screen bags or cargo using equipment or hands
- Perform searches of passengers with tools or by hand
- Monitor and screen passengers through screening checkpoints and other procedures
- Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to policies and procedures.
- Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
- Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
- Collaboration with Treatment Centre Staff: Work closely with Centre staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
- Enforce Policies: Ensure that policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- 1+ years of relevant security experience
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
