We are looking for experienced Security Officers to join our Tactical Mobile team! In this role, your main objective is the prevention and elimination of criminal activity in the Lower Mainland, Metro Vancouver, and beyond. You will be conducting and coordinating emergency responses to alarms, reporting security breaches and property damage, and directing unauthorized individuals to leave the premises. You will be driving a Paladin vehicle and also conducting foot patrols inside and outside of facilities, up and down stairs, and over uneven surfaces and terrain.

This team works throughout the Lower Mainland, but your shifts will start and end at the base site in Surrey. Your pay rate will start at $26.86/hour during training, and you will be working 12-hour shifts on a rotational basis, Wed to Fri & Rotating Sat or Sun to Tue & Rotating Sat.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all incidents in a professional and calm demeanor.
• Maintain a good rapport with all Paladin Employees and client staff, while being cognizant of the confidential information being handled as well as being vigilant to potential intruders
• Alarm response should be effective, concise, and within designated time frames.
• Respond to accident calls and emergencies efficiently. Escalate problems that cannot be resolved by you. Report any issues, with full details to the Security Command Centre in a timely manner.
• Complete any other tasks given by the Security Command Centre, TMO Supervisor, the Surrey Campus Site Supervisor, or the Security Programs Manager.
• Familiarization with all client facilities and surrounding areas.
• Build rapport with surrounding businesses to heighten the level of security in any client jurisdiction.
• Required to work any shift of any rotation on an on call/as needed basis

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the security industry 
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and a clean driving abstract
• Availability to work 12-hour overnight shifts on a 4-day rotation
• Experience in handcuff training/use and self-defense; Advanced Security Training (AST) is preferred, but training will be provided to successful candidates
• Occupational First Aid Level 2 (IFA) certification is an asset; training will be provided to the successful candidates.
• Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate and problem-solve.
• Exceptional customer service, professionalism, and communication (both verbal and written) skills
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Post-secondary education in Criminology & Law Enforcement is an asset
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada 

Certification Requirements (All)

Valid BC Security Licence
Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License
