This role is a direct pathway to permanent employment, offering guaranteed hours, a warm indoor working environment, and practically unlimited overtime. We need dedicated tradespeople who excel in heavy structural fabrication.

Overview:
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Role Type: Full-Time (Temporary-to-Permanent pathway)
Base Pay: Starting at $36.00/hour (Willing to negotiate for candidates with active tickets and heavy experience)
Shift Schedule: Monday to Thursday (9-hour shifts) and Friday (8-hour shifts) – guaranteeing you 44 base hours every single week!

Responsibilities
Advanced Structural Fitting: Be fully responsible for assembling, perfectly aligning, and firmly tacking heavy structural components together before the final welding process begins.

Heavy Multi-Pass Welding: Perform high-quality Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) on massive steel structures, laying down flawless multi-pass welds in a high-production environment.

Blueprint Interpretation: Read, interpret, and execute detailed fabrication blueprints, complex structural drawings, and advanced welding symbols with absolute precision.

Quality Control Coordination: Partner with our in-house QA/QC inspectors to guarantee that every completed weld and assembly easily passes strict CWB and ABSA code requirements.

Qualifications
Journeyman Certification: A certified, fully valid Journeyperson Welder ticket is an absolute requirement for this position.

Welding Expertise: Extensive, proven experience performing heavy FCAW and executing complex multi-pass welds on large-scale structural steel.

Strong Fitting Skills: Comprehensive understanding of structural layouts, precision fitting techniques, and safe operation of overhead cranes and shop fabrication tools.

Weld Testing Capability: You must be ready and able to successfully pass our practical in-shop ABSA and CWB weld tests. (If your ABSA and CWB tickets are currently active, your resume will be fast-tracked!)

Local Commute: Candidates must live in or within a reasonable daily drive of Fort Saskatchewan and possess a reliable vehicle.
