Now hiring several full-time, year-round Cabinet Makers / Finishing Specialists to assist in the building and finishing of luxurious railcar interiors.   Ideal for a detail-obsessed tradesperson with 3+ years of millwork/finishing experience able to deliver flawless, luxury-grade results.   Offering a competitive wage, excellent benefits, a 4-day work week and lots of room to grow and learn.

The Perfect Candidate: 

This role operates in a fast-paced, industrial rail environment where safety, reliability, and teamwork are essential. The successful candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented tradesperson with 2–3+ years of hands-on experience building, assembling, and finishing cabinets, countertops, storage areas, bathrooms, and other high-end interiors.

  • 3+ years in cabinet making, millwork, finish carpentry, or related roles (eg. custom residential/commercial interiors, RV/yacht/aircraft fit-out, high-end furniture/millwork shops).
  • Strong skills in measuring, cutting, joinery, edge banding, sanding, staining, sealing, hardware installation, and final fit/finish.
  • Comfortable working from drawings, cut lists, and shop sketches; able to take direction from supervisors and leads.
  • Experience with solid wood, veneers, laminates, melamine, stone/quartz, various metals and associated adhesives and fasteners is very beneficial.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials and components; proficient with hand tools, power tools, and stationary shop equipment.
  • Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and commitment to quality finishes.
  • Reliable, punctual, and hard-working; team-oriented with a good attitude and willingness to learn.

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Provides hands-on expertise to fabricate and install custom interior components for luxurious refurbished railcars.
  • Build, assemble, and finish custom cabinets, countertops, vanities, storage units, kitchens and bathroom interiors.
  • Read and interpret drawings, cut lists, and shop sketches; measure, mark, and cut materials accurately.
  • Perform joinery, edge banding, sanding, staining, sealing, and hardware installation to a high-end finish standard.
  • Fit and install completed components into railcar interiors, ensuring proper alignment, clearances, and function.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop floors, work areas, and common spaces; remove scrap and waste promptly.
  • Keep the shop organized, safe, and productive.
  • Deliver  high-quality cabinetry and finishes that meet design specifications and client expectations.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are stored properly after use; support inventory and staging activities as required.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials and components safely within the shop and warehouse.
  • Follow all shop safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements; assist in maintaining a safe, hazard-free work environment.
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or incidents immediately.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Perform other cabinet making and interior fit-out tasks as assigned to support production schedules.
