Laser Programmer - Operator

We are seeking an experienced Laser Programmer - Operator to join our dynamic team at our Advanced Millwrights Inc. division. The Laser Programmer-Operator is responsible for interpreting project blueprints, designing programs and setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program. We are looking for someone that is eager to continue their career, that is results-oriented, professional and an out-of-the-box thinker. The Laser Programmer-Operator promotes company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and program the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators
• Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
• Knowledge about shield gases used during laser cutting operation
• Monitor fill level of bulk tank system and report reordering levels to the supervisor
• Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Prepare product for shipment
• Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually, or using hoist
• Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators
• Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience on Trumpf, Amada or similar CNC laser cutting machines (TruDisk/TruFlow preferred).
• High school diploma or GED is preferred
• Solid background working with sheet metal
• Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
• Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills
• Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass
• Flexible schedule is required; this position requires shift work as well as some weekend work
• Strong team player and reliable

Hourly Rate For The Role: $25.00 - $31.85

The hourly rate range provided in this posting is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location, as well as internal equity and budget considerations.
