Technical Service Specialist - Core Lab (Greater Toronto Area)

Abbott seeks a Technical Service Specialist to install, maintain, and repair Core Lab Division diagnostic instruments at customer sites in the Greater Toronto Area. The role involves field-based support, emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and customer training on laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and product updates at customer sites
- Maintain communication with customer support center personnel and provide daily territory support
- Document service calls, prepare detailed reports, and manage spare parts inventory levels
- Train customers on proper operation of Abbott instrumentation on site as needed
- Conduct technical service business reviews and recommend performance improvement strategies for assigned territory
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or medical technology preferred
- 1 to 3 years of practical experience, preferably with customer-facing technical support
- Willingness to work unscheduled overtime, travel, and participate in on-call rotation including after-hours and weekends
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills with ability to work independently
- Capability to lift and transport equipment, service tools, and instrumentation as required
Compensation: $68,250–$100,100 CAD annual base salary
