Victor Energy Ltd. is a powerline contractor with over 20 years’ experience building Alberta’s electrical infrastructure, owned by Java Holdings Ltd. Java Holdings Ltd. owns a portfolio of companies in North America and Europe and is engaged in its acquisitions providing high level execution support for large utility, oil and gas, and power generation projects, specializing in EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Management). As part of the Java Group, Victor Energy’s staff have over 50 years of experience building some of Canada’s largest electrical infrastructure projects.
As our team grows and projects are beginning to take off, we are seeking a Quality Coordinator to ensure we “do it right the first time” and implement approaches to meet the project requirements in alignment with our values of innovation, community, excellence, and safety. This position is construction site-based.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Execute quality assurance and quality control activities on the project site.
- Review quality documentation for completeness, accuracy and follow up on issues with construction team
- Execute inspection activities as applicable
- Complete all assigned inspection tasks and complete related checksheets and capture photos in alignment with the project requirements
- Follow Company Quality Manual, project specific Quality Plan and Inspection and Test Plans.
- Support all quality team members and ensure requirements are met of the applicable Contract, Client Standards, Provincial and Federal Regulations, and Code(s) of Construction.
- Identifying any material issues – including missing or damaged material.
Your background and credentials must include:
- 5+ years experience in construction of foundations, transmission, distribution and/or substations
- Utility construction or foundation construction experience is preferred
- Ability to read, interpret and apply Codes, Standards, Specifications and Drawing
Your background and credentials would also include:
- Keen attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience working on major utility construction projects is an asset
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Service-oriented with the ability to be assertive and persuasive.
- Sound judgment with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Resourceful and maintains professional and technical skills
- Strong computer knowledge and learning new software platforms
