Job Description

Join a team of skilled technicians who take pride in doing the job right the first time. CEDA's Fort McMurray truck shop offers a clean, modern, and well-equipped facility, a diverse fleet of specialized equipment, and a strong commitment to safety and quality, giving you the tools, resources, and support needed to do your best work.

Whether you're looking for a 7x7 or 14x14 rotation , you'll enjoy steady, year-round work while building your skills alongside experienced Journeyperson technicians. Based out of our truck shop at 180 MacLennan Crescent in Fort McMurray, AB , you'll work on one of the industry's most diverse fleets using OEM diagnostic software, specialized tooling, and equipment that supports continuous learning and professional growth.

• Full-time, year-round work with all repairs completed in-house, providing exposure to a wide variety of equipment and opportunities to expand your technical expertise

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Hydrovacs, Wet Vacuum Trucks, Combo Units, Water Trucks, High Pressure Water Blasting equipment, highway tractors, and trailers (Peterbilt, Kenworth, and Western Star)
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and after-treatment systems, including Cummins, CAT, Detroit, and John Deere
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, PTOs, clutches, transmissions, differentials, vacuum pumps, blowers, and burner systems
• Complete Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIP)
• Interpret work orders and accurately document completed repairs
• Mentor apprentices and support their development
• Participate in daily toolbox and safety meetings while adhering to company and site safety requirements

Role Specifications:

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (On-Road) certification required
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence with no more than five demerits in the past three years
• Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence is considered an asset
• CVIP licence or the ability to obtain one
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is considered an asset
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must provide your own tools
