Position Overview
- The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for production planning, vendor management, inventory optimization, procurement, logistics coordination, and supply chain process improvement.
- The role also oversees supplier relationships, ERP systems, inventory controls, and team leadership to support scalable manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, procure, and deliver materials to support pre-production and assembly operations
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate supplier agreements
- Ensure timely delivery of components, assemblies, and materials
- Improve supply chain processes through continuous optimization initiatives
- Organize and oversee inventory management systems and tracking processes
- Implement lean manufacturing and visual inventory control systems
- Research and coordinate cost-effective logistics and shipping solutions
- Support new product development initiatives and inventory planning
- Lead, train, and develop the Supply Chain team
- Monitor schedules, productivity, and departmental performance
- Manage ERP inventory systems and supply chain databases
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing Management, or Supplier Development within manufacturing environments
- Previous leadership experience at the Director level
- Strong knowledge of MRP systems, strategic sourcing, should-cost analysis, and end-to-end supply chain operations
- Experience working in lean manufacturing environments
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and data analysis
- Experience building and managing ERP inventory systems; Business Central experience preferred
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and supplier relationship skills
- Strategic thinker with hands-on operational capability
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to travel to the United States
- Post-secondary education in Business or Supply Chain is considered an asset
- Experience sourcing products internationally into Canada and/or the United States is preferred
