Registration Clerk / Receptionist (Recreation & Culture)
(CUPE Auxiliary)
The City of Pitt Meadows is recruiting Registration Clerk/Receptionists to provide front-line customer support at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre. Reporting to the Manager of Recreation, this position performs clerical duties, program registration, and general assistance to the public. The successful candidate will exercise some independent judgement and action but will refer more complex situations to a supervisor. If you enjoy providing high-quality customer service and have a passion for community recreation programs, then this may be the opportunity for you!
Applicants must be willing to work weekends with open flexibility to work a variety of shifts Monday through Sunday, 5:45am – 10:15pm.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of the grade 12 including or supplemented by word processing and computer courses or other relevant courses, plus sound related experience preferably in a recreation department and including cashiering; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience balancing cash, receiving remittances, preparing floats, and general cash handling.
- Strong data entry skills and ability to maintain records, files, and reports (i.e., entering participant info, issuing memberships, etc.).
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for providing excellent and courteous customer service.
- Ability to effectively use common office equipment (i.e. Microsoft 365, registration software, etc.).
- Experience in a Municipal setting and working with Intelli will be considered assets.
WHAT WE OFFER
- CUPE Pay Grade 12, Step 1 – $27.96/hr + 12% in lieu of benefits, general holiday pay.
