Become a Healthcare Mentor at Seabird Island Band, focusing on nurse training and cultural education. Enhance nursing practices through mentorship, advocacy, and community involvement. As a Healthcare Mentor, you will support the growth of nursing practices by providing mentorship, conducting competency assessments, and promoting culturally safe care. This role emphasizes community collaboration and the integration of First Nations knowledge into healthcare education. You will work under the guidance of the Acting Health Services Administrative Lead to significantly improve client outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mentorship and coaching for nursing staff
- Develop individualized learning plans based on assessments
- Advise on documentation and clinical practices
- Coordinate nurse education and in-service training sessions
- Collaborate with community partners in health promotion
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Community health experience preferred
- Experience with Indigenous communities
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license for community travel
