Intermediate Ecologist to join our team in our Edmonton office. In this role, you will contribute to a range of applied ecology projects, including wildlife, vegetation and soils assessments, and wetland delineations. You will support and lead project management activities, prepare technical reports, and apply Alberta’s regulatory requirements to your work. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and engage with clients, bringing a strong commitment to technical excellence, critical thinking, and clear communication.

What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement field programs (wildlife, vegetation, wetlands, soils) and evaluating development impacts on ecosystem components.
- Contribute to or lead the preparation of high-quality scientific and technical reports, including permits and regulatory documents.
- Manage projects and inter-disciplinary project teams.
- Contribute to business development and growth by identifying new opportunities, supporting proposals, and building strong client relationships.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen by understanding project financials, contributing to revenue targets, and optimizing project efficiency.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills to identify ecological risks, evaluate complex project constraints, and develop practical, defensible, and cost-effective solutions aligned with environmental, client, and business objectives.
- Prepare and delivering presentations on project outcomes to clients and regulators.
- Contribute to the oversight, mentorship and coordination of staff in the Edmonton office.
- Collaborate with a dynamic team of environmental scientists and engineers.
Does this sound like you?
- Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant pure or applied science.
- Professional registration or eligibility for registration (e.g. P.Ag., P.Biol.).
- Project experience in wildlife, vegetation, wetland, and soils assessments.
- Strong time management and organizational ability.
- 8+ years post-graduation experience in environmental consulting.
- Leadership skills and a drive to succeed.
- A strong understanding of relevant provincial and federal legislation, regulation and permitting processes.
- Excellent communication skills and technical report writing experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines within a team environment.
- Ability to manage diverse projects and budgets.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment and provide supervisory support to other team members.
- Ability to travel for short periods of time.
- Knowledge of fisheries and GIS is an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence.
