Our client is an engineering company delivering projects across the mining and mineral processing industry. They are looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer with strong mineral processing plant experience to join their team

Your new role

Lead electrical design across mineral processing plant projects
You will lead the electrical design work for mining and mineral processing plant projects.
Review electrical drawings, calculations and specifications
Review and coordinate 2D drawings and 3D models
Lead and mentor electrical engineers and designers
Work directly with clients and Project Managers
Manage design schedules, budgets and deliverables
Support site work, construction and commissioning
Review designs involving MCCs, motors, drives, substations and cable systems
Make sure designs meet project, safety and quality requirements
Based in Mississauga, 5 days per week in office

What you'll need to succeed

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification
8+ years of industrial electrical design experience
Strong experience within mining, mineral processing or a similar heavy process plant environment
Experience working on the electrical design of mineral processing plants or large industrial facilities
Strong knowledge of MCCs, motors, drives, substations and cable systems
Experience reviewing electrical drawings and technical documentation
Experience with 2D drawings and 3D model coordination
Experience leading and providing direction to electrical engineers and designers
Strong client-facing communication skills
Construction, field and commissioning experience
P.Eng. registration in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain it, is preferred
