Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Policy & SOP Consultant to support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of operational documentation within our Information Technology department. This role is essential in ensuring that our policies and procedures are clear, practical, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and update policies, standard operating procedures, work instructions, process guides, and related business documentation.
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts and stakeholders to gather, validate, and document business requirements and operational practices.
• Document current-state processes and help design clear, practical future-state procedures.
• Create process maps, workflows, and supporting documentation.
• Translate complex business, operational, and system changes into documentation that is easy for employees to understand and follow.
• Establish consistent document structures, terminology, formatting, and writing standards.
• Support policy and documentation governance, including review cycles, approvals, version control, and ongoing maintenance.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to streamline existing processes and documentation.
• Support ERP transformation and other business-change initiatives by documenting new workflows, roles, controls, and procedures.
• Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and revise documentation as processes and requirements evolve.
• Help promote continuous improvement and consistent ways of working across the organization.

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience developing policies, SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, or operational manuals.
• Strong business writing, editing, and information-organizing skills.
• Experience interviewing subject-matter experts and translating their knowledge into clear documentation.
• Experience with business-process analysis, process mapping, and future-state process design.
• Familiarity with documentation governance, approval workflows, document control, and version management.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations, system transformations, or operational-change initiatives.
• Experience in retail operations or another complex, process-driven environment.
• Knowledge of business-process improvement and continuous-improvement practices.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work with limited oversight.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency across a large body of documentation.

You do not need to meet every qualification. Consultants with strong experience in policy development, procedure writing, operational documentation, or business-process improvement are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment

This position is remote and located in Canada. Candidates must possess enhanced security clearance or be eligible and have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
