Strategic Sourcing Category Lead

Strategic sourcing and negotiation define this Category Lead role at Ciena in Ottawa. Lead indirect procurement initiatives supporting global business objectives.As Category Lead, you will develop strategies across technical and engineering teams, Capex, and MRO. The position focuses on cost optimization, supplier performance, contract compliance, and process improvement. You will align procurement activities with stakeholders and present performance metrics to leadership.Key Responsibilities:
Develop category strategies for assigned indirect spend categoriesAnalyze markets, suppliers, and spending for savings opportunitiesLead RFI, RFP, evaluation, negotiation, and selection activitiesManage supplier performance, compliance, and issue resolutionPresent savings, performance, and key metrics to leadershipRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or related fieldFive or more years in indirect procurement or strategic sourcingThree or more years in category managementStrong negotiation and procurement contract management skillsProcurement software, Excel, PowerPoint, and DocuSign experienceApply strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management expertise as Ciena’s Category Lead in Ottawa.
