Software Developer for AI Tools at Telesat

Elevate Systems Engineering practices at Telesat through innovative AI-powered tool development. This onsite role at Telesat HQ in Ottawa focuses on building impactful solutions for enhancing engineering workflows. Telesat, a leader in satellite communications, is looking for an experienced software developer to support the Lightspeed program. You will create AI-enabled tools that streamline Systems Engineering processes while enhancing governance. This individual contributor role emphasizes software design and construction while leveraging classical Systems Engineering practices for optimal results. Key Responsibilities:
- Identify high-impact Systems Engineering use cases for AI
- Address gaps in technical baselines with existing artifacts
- Develop lightweight tools in Python to integrate SE sources
- Implement programmatic LLM workflows for output efficiency
- Ensure outputs are auditable with proper validation checks
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Software or Systems Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in quality software development
- Proficiency in Python for automation and integration
- Experience with large language models in practical projects
- Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices
