Senior Engineer for Model Validation

Join the Alberta Electric System Operator as a Senior Engineer, Model Validation, focusing on power system model accuracy. This full-time role reports to the Manager of Project Engineering, emphasizing model validation and infrastructure reliability. You will mentor and support other engineers while developing structured validation frameworks. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate project deliverables and mitigate risks effectively. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead validation of power system models and studies
• Validate assumptions and methodologies for accuracy
• Review and assess generator and network models
• Interpret and communicate modeling results to stakeholders
• Mentor team engineers on best practices

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years in electric utility engineering
• Registered or eligible P.Eng. with APEGA
• Proficient in PSSE and modeling tools
• Knowledge of Alberta's regulatory framework
