As the company continues to grow its development pipeline across Western Canada, Lorval is seeking an experienced development leader to strengthen execution across the portfolio and help shape the next phase of its growth.

Your new role  

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Director of Development will lead the overall development function and oversee a portfolio of active and future projects across multiple asset classes.

This role requires an accomplished development professional who can balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You will be responsible for leading development teams, advancing development opportunities, managing project performance, and ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with financial, schedule, and quality objectives. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership and oversight across the development portfolio.
• Leading and mentoring Development Managers and development professionals.
• Driving project performance from acquisition and planning through approvals, construction, and turnover.
• Developing strategies to maximize project profitability and value creation.
• Building relationships with municipalities, consultants, investors, and industry stakeholders.
• Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Establishing reporting, governance, and operational processes that support future growth.
• Partnering closely with executive leadership on business planning, growth initiatives, and portfolio strategy. 

What you'll need to succeed  

The successful candidate will be an experienced development professional with a proven track record of advancing complex development projects from concept through delivery.

You are likely to bring:

• 10+ years of progressive real estate development experience.
• Experience leading large-scale residential, industrial, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
• Strong understanding of entitlements, municipal approvals, development economics, and project execution.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing development teams.
• Strong financial acumen and the ability to evaluate risk, return, and project viability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• The confidence and credibility to operate in a highly entrepreneurial environment.

Compensation includes:

• $200,000-$250,000 base dependent on experience 
• Bonus
