ECM ( Enterprise Content Management ) Developer / Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Canada Life is seeking an experienced ECM Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise content management solutions, with a focus on platforms such as OnBase (Hyland). This role involves building scalable document management, workflow automation, and content integration solutions to support business operations and digital transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and configure ECM solutions (OnBase or similar platforms) Implement document management, workflow automation, and case management solutions Develop and maintain integrations between ECM platforms and enterprise systems (APIs, databases) Configure document ingestion, indexing, and classification processes Support data and document migration from legacy systems to ECM platforms Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions Ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability of ECM applications Perform unit testing, support system testing, and assist in UAT activities Troubleshoot and resolve defects, production issues, and performance bottlenecks Follow development standards, governance, and best practices Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in ECM or document management system development Strong expertise in OnBase (or similar ECM platforms) Experience with workflow design, document management, and records management Knowledge of API integrations, web services (REST/SOAP), and system interfaces Experience with data migration and content management strategies Familiarity with relational databases and SQL Understanding of security, compliance, and document retention policies Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Robust problem‑solving and communication skills Nice-to-Have

OnBase certifications or experience in OnBase migration projects Experience in financial services or insurance domain Exposure to OCR/capture tools (e.g., Brainware, Kofax) Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred) Experience with integration of platforms such as Appian or API ecosystems Work Arrangement

Hybrid model with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, working within a collaborative, cross‑functional team.
