Job Responsibility:
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Lead Cook to join our culinary team. The Lead Cook will play a vital role in the kitchen, overseeing meal preparation and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires a strong understanding of food service operations, food safety practices, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily cooking operations to ensure efficient meal preparation.
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist in menu planning, including seasonal offerings and special dietary needs.
- Train new kitchen staff on food handling procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies; assist with ordering as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen personnel to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
Experience
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or food service environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
- Leadership experience or the ability to mentor junior staff is preferred.
- A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
