Shipping Team Lead

Job Responsibility: Shipping Team Leader Slave Lake, Alberta We are looking for a Shipping Team Leader to join our largest OSB mill, located in Slave Lake, Alberta. Our Athabasca Division safely and sustainably produces forest products for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities. Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications: A degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, or a related field. Proven experience in rail line maintenance and compliance. Experience in shipping and warehouse environments. Experience operating a forklift. Strong organizational skills. Experience working in a manufacturing environment and ability to collaborate across multiple teams. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and work safe rules. Excellent coaching and support skills to help shipping team members meet targets. Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of reload receipts and shipping documents. In this role you will: Ensure rail line is maintained and in compliance to regulations. Ensure track mobile and shipping equipment is in good repair and deficiencies are reported promptly to maintenance. Evaluate employees to verify competency and operator knowledge. Coordinate with the technical department on the movement of chemical cars to chemical offloading. Operate in a safe manner in accordance to work safe rules, regulations, and policies. Coach and provide support to shipping team members to meet mill targets. Conduct performance assessments as per Tolko's performance management model. Ensures the accuracy of shipping and transfer documents for prompt delivery of products to customers. Provides notification to Vernon Office of orders shipped by inputting information from tallies into the computer. Perform general daily tasks including managing warehouse inventory, assigning pick-up dates, invoicing shipments, signing drivers, and daily reporting. Ensure reload management process is functional; by creating weekly transfer orders, forecasting mill to reload shipments. Ensures accuracy of reload receipts, producing and forwarding out-bound BOL's to reload, invoicing all truck and rail once loading confirmation, balancing reload inventory counts to MAS. Perform physical counts for month end and year end processes. Primary contact for Vernon office OSB Sales & Transportation Departments. Provide on-call services as required. So, what's in it for you? The expected base salary range for this position is $80,250 - $107,000. You'll earn an additional prairie location payment on top of your base pay.
