Location: New Westminster, BC Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Compensation: $25.00 per hour, 30 hours per week Schedule: Early mornings, mornings, and daytime hours (7:30 AM to 5:30 PM) Start Date: As soon as possible Work Setting: Employer's home About the Role We are seeking a caring, reliable, and experienced Home Child Care Provider to support a family with the day-to-day care and development of children in a safe, nurturing, and engaging home environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising children, supporting their emotional and social development, and assisting with light household duties related to childcare. Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for children in the employer's home
- Change diapers and assist with toilet training following parents' guidance
- Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and organized home environment
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, and outings
- Support children's emotional well-being and social development
- Help children with homework and educational activities
- Prepare children for rest periods and daily routines
- Transport children to and from school, appointments, and activities
- Keep records of children's daily activities and health information
- Travel with the family when required and assist with childcare responsibilities
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to childcare
- Cook family meals as needed
- Apply discipline in accordance with the parents' preferred methods
- Valid CPR Certificate
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to provide references
- Criminal record check
- Vulnerable sector check
- Driver's licence verification and driving abstract
- Strong client-service orientation
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Organized with strong time-management abilities
- Reliable, honest, and patient
- Flexible and adaptable
- Strong judgment and initiative
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Comfortable with repetitive activities
- Capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
