Job Summary/Responsibilities
- Custom fabrication, truck, machinery or equipment repair
- Use of oxy-acetylene, shield metal arc, gas metal arc and/or plasma arc welders
- Work with stainless steel, steel, aluminum alloys a/o iron & other heavy metals
- Safe operation of equipment, complete daily inspection checklists
- Interpret welding process specifications, operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines, fit, braze and torch-straighten metal, operate drill press, determine weldability of materials, select filler rods, perform post welding heat treatment, operate hoisting and lifting equipment, prepare jigs or set-ups for welding, operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products, maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
- Examine welds to ensure they meet standards a/o specifications, layout patterns, make shop sketches
- Requirements
- Must possess valid Welder Trade Certification - Please indicate your area of expertise
- Must be able to lift 9kg
- Must be fluent in English - speak, read and write
