Bar and Concessions Server

Job Responsibility:
About the Position
Reporting to the Patron Services Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating Magnus Theatre's bar/concession service and providing housekeeping duties as required to ensure the cleanliness of the concession's service areas and lounge. The Bar and Concessions Attendant will represent Magnus Theatre in a professional manner and is an ideal role for a personable individual with strong time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Operation of the bar and serving of beverages and packaged food items to the public
- Ensure a high level of customer service
- Daily preparation of bar sales reports
- Ensure bar operating and petty cash floats are maintained as per Magnus Theatre cash and control procedures
- Abide by all legislation relating to the City of Thunder Bay and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) for operating a facility with a liquor license
- Ensure the bar is maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
- Cross-train in Front of House procedures
- Be informed of and participate as required in emergency procedures
- Support Facilities Caretaker by conducting housekeeping duties such as lounge and washroom on an as needed basis in their absence
- Abide by all company rules, policies, and bylaws which may from time to time be posted by Magnus Theatre
- Conduct light snow removal and salting duties along patron areas as required
- Carrying out additional duties as requested by Magnus Theatre Management
Qualifications
- A valid and current Smart Serve certificate is required
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of the not-for-profit environment and appreciation of the performing arts
- Ability to work within and maintain a highly effective and positive team culture
Further Information
This is a casual position, and the successful candidate will work onsite in Thunder Bay, Ontario to grow Magnus Theatre alongside our vibrant, team-oriented staff. Typical working hours occur on evenings and weekends and fluctuate with event and performance needs.
The compensation package includes a wage of $16.55 per hour.
