Role Overview

As a UX Designer at Ubisoft Saguenay, you will be the primary architect of the user journey for Rainbow Six Siege . Your mission is to shape clear, intuitive, and high-performance interfaces and interactive systems. Your work will span the core pillars of the game’s “out-of-game” experience, including complex menus, monetization/shop features, social systems, and deep character customization flows.

This role requires a unique blend of psychological insight and technical design. You will transform complex gameplay requirements and backend constraints into ergonomic solutions that enhance player satisfaction. You are not just designing screens; you are designing the emotional and logical flow that keeps millions of players engaged with our systems.

Key Responsibilities as UX Designer

1. Interaction Design & Architecture

• Map out comprehensive user flows and interaction paths for the main game menus, in-game shop, and social systems.

• Design wireframes and interactive prototypes that prioritize usability, cognitive load management, and aesthetic harmony.

• Ensure that customization systems (skins, operators, loadouts) are deep yet accessible to both veteran players and newcomers.

2. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration

• Collaborate daily with UI Artists , Gameplay Programmers , Backend Engineers , and the Graphics Team Leader to ensure feature feasibility and visual excellence.

• Serve as the “Voice of the User” during feature design meetings, ensuring that technical implementations never compromise the player experience.

3. User-Centered Research & Data Analysis

• Apply rigorous User-Centered Design (UCD) methodologies, including user research, competitive benchmarking, and usability testing.

• Analyze player data and feedback loops to validate design hypotheses and identify friction points in existing systems.

• Participate in iterative testing cycles, translating playtest results into actionable design refinements.

4. Documentation & Standards

• Create and maintain detailed UX Documentation (logic flows, wireframe specs, annotations) to serve as a single source of truth for the development team.

• Utilize industry-standard tools—specifically Figma and Miro —to document, explore, and communicate design solutions.

• Maintain visual and functional coherence across all menus to ensure a “seamless” feel throughout the Rainbow Six Siege ecosystem.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills as UX Designer

The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for understanding the “why” behind user behavior.
