Wage Rate

Compensation is fee‑for‑service as per the Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living negotiated rates. Average salary CDN$252,253 to $524,874 (to be negotiated). Minimum salary is guaranteed for 1 year.

Position Summary

Brandon is the main hub and referral site for southwestern Manitoba, with a catchment area of approximately 200,000 people. Brandon Regional Health Centre is a fully accredited, multi‑specialty facility with a 300+ bed capacity and is undergoing a $110 million expansion of inpatient care facilities, expected to be completed by 2026. The centre operates three endoscopy rooms, a fleet of 45 scopes, and offers a high level of service, including on‑site diagnostic services such as radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine. Specialist services on site include pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, anesthesia, general surgery, radiology, nuclear medicine, oncology, orthopedic surgery, urology, and internal medicine. The hospital is a satellite campus for the University of Manitoba and offers opportunities to contribute to teaching and mentoring medical learners.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders
  • Prescribe post‑operation medication and treatment
  • Supervise surgical procedures
  • Treat diseases, injuries and deformities
  • Act as consultants to other physicians
  • Order laboratory tests, X‑rays and other diagnostic procedures

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine degree with specialization in endoscopy
  • Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada
  • Registration with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba
  • Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association mandatory
  • Advanced endoscopy training preferred (e.g., Endoscopic Mucosal Resection, ERCP, other advanced therapeutic procedures)
  • Management of inflammatory bowel disease desired
  • Qualified PRA candidates encouraged to apply, provided they meet eligibility requirements

Credentials

  • Member of CMPA or proof of equivalent malpractice insurance
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
  • Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated respect for confidentiality (paper, electronic and other formats)
  • Good work and attendance record

Experience and Specialization

Specialization in gastroenterology. Candidates with advanced endoscopy training are preferred.
