Russell Investments
Salary Range: $150,000 CAD – $190,000 CAD (specific compensation based on experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job‑related factors permitted by law).
We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Marketing to join our North America Advisor & Intermediary Solutions (AIS) marketing team in Toronto. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing marketing strategies that drive engagement across the Canadian intermediary and retail channels – including MFDA dealers, national bank‑owned dealers, national independent dealers and others. The role serves as the Canadian marketing lead for AIS, defining the regional marketing strategy, influencing business priorities, and driving alignment across sales, product, digital, and global marketing teams.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Marketing Leadership
Develop and execute integrated, multi‑channel marketing programs – including digital, email, webinars, advertising and social media – to elevate Russell Investments’ brand and strengthen relationships with advisors and intermediary partners.
Drive the Canadian AIS marketing strategy in alignment with broader North American business objectives and growth priorities, while maintaining active involvement in campaign development and execution.
Identify emerging market opportunities, advisor trends, and competitive insights to inform strategic marketing direction and campaign priorities.
Tailor campaigns to the distinct needs of the Canadian market, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements, regional nuances, and evolving advisor needs.
- Business Partnership & Commercial Enablement
Act as a strategic marketing partner to distribution leadership and sales teams, helping shape go‑to‑market priorities and advisor engagement strategies.
Design and deliver compelling marketing collateral, sales enablement tools, and training materials – including brochures, product guides, presentations, and digital assets – to support advisors and distribution partners.
Collaborate closely with wholesaling teams to execute timely, effective marketing initiatives that drive engagement, advisor adoption, and sales outcomes, in both English and French.
Influence product positioning and commercialization strategies for new and existing investment solutions while supporting execution through launch and ongoing campaigns.
- Campaign Leadership & Operational Excellence
Lead the planning and execution of integrated campaigns supporting product launches, thought leadership, advisor engagement, and brand‑building initiatives across Canada.
Manage campaign timelines, budgets, stakeholder communication, and vendor coordination to ensure high‑quality, on‑brand delivery.
Work collaboratively across teams to drive operational efficiency and scalable marketing processes while remaining closely involved in day‑to‑day execution and delivery.
- Cross‑Functional & Global Collaboration
Partner with internal stakeholders – including Sales, Product Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Digital, and Corporate Communications – to ensure quality, consistency, and strategic alignment across initiatives.
Work closely with our Mumbai‑based Global Marketing Operations team, who serve as an extension of our North American offices, to enhance efficiency, scalability, and execution excellence.
Collaborate with global marketing colleagues to share best practices, align messaging, and leverage enterprise capabilities across regions.
- Localization, Governance & Compliance
Adapt materials and campaigns for the Canadian market, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, bilingual requirements, and cultural nuances.
Manage French translation workflows using tools such as TransPerfect, ensuring quality, consistency, and operational efficiency across bilingual materials.
Partner closely with Legal and Compliance teams to maintain adherence to regulatory and brand standards across all communications.
- Performance Measurement & Insights
Develop KPIs and performance measurement frameworks to evaluate campaign effectiveness, advisor engagement, and business impact.
Leverage data, analytics, and market insights to optimize marketing performance and inform strategic decision‑making.
Share learnings, best practices, and recommendations across regional and global teams.
Present campaign results and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders and business leaders.
