The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. Based in North Vancouver, St. Pius X Elementary School is a Catholic community dedicated to developing reverence, respect and responsibility within each child, using Christ as our centre. It is our goal to assist each child in their intellectual, physical, social, artistic and emotional growth while developing Christian leaders, responsible citizens and lifelong learners through academic standards, extensive extra-curricular programs, and a vibrant faith-based community.

JOB DESCRIPTION

St. Pius X Elementary School is seeking a full-time Kindergarten teacher from November 2026 to June of 2027 with the likelihood of extension for the following academic year. This is coverage for a maternity leave.

The successful candidate must be committed to students’ faith development, strong classroom management skills, have strong leadership and communication skills and experience with inclusive education. Most importantly, the successful candidate must have a joy of teaching.

Please note: The ability to work as part of a team, to contribute to the extra-curricular and co-curricular programs in the school, and familiarity with education-based technology are necessary. Please include Teacher Regulation Branch status in a cover letter. We are only considering those with BC-teaching certification, or in the process of certification (ie, new graduates from a BC teacher education program).
