Bid Cost Manager

Could you be the full-time Tender/Bid Cost Manager or Project Cost Manager in St-Bruno we’re looking for?

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare rapid cost estimates during the pre-bid phase based on product cost databases and project execution data.
  • Define cost structures and target costs in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead cost estimation and cost optimization activities to ensure competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with Finance leaders to optimize financial costs and enhance the overall competitiveness of bids.
  • Provide variance analyses and support financial reviews during project execution.
  • Support project teams in estimating costs related to change orders and cost-saving initiatives.

Education

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience and Expertise

  • Two years or less of relevant experience in Financial Controlling, Management Control, FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis), or Financial Reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing cost analyses, budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and performance reports, and translating findings into practical, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze, consolidate, and challenge commitments from various contributors using data-driven assumptions and clear cost analyses.
  • Ability to assess the cost impact of commercial and contractual terms and translate financial rules, contractual requirements, bonds and guarantees, financing, hedging strategies, insurance, and taxation into bid-cost assumptions.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, KPI monitoring, cost accounting, margin analysis, and profitability analysis.

Pension Plan

Participation in a Defined Contribution (DC) pension plan. Employees are not required to make mandatory contributions. The company provides automatic employer contributions ranging from 3.5% to 7.5% of base salary, based on an employee point system (age plus years of service). Employees may also make voluntary contributions, and the company will match 50% of those contributions. In addition to the DC plan, employees have access to two voluntary savings vehicles: a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) and a Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA).

Location and Work Arrangement

Work Location:
1101 Parent Street, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC J3V 6E6, Canada

The position may require occasional (limited) travel within Canada and internationally for customer bid meetings and coordination activities with global teams and key stakeholders.

Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days on-site and 2 days remote per week.

Compensation and Employment Details

  • Salary: CAD $95,000
  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Employment Type: Permanent

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in both French and English is required.
  • Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when collaborating with international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers.
  • In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.
