Job Responsibility:
Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Resident Engineer to join our team in Brechin. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting various engineering and operational functions, including proposal development, supplier management, logistics coordination, R&D and FEA initiatives. This is a dynamic position ideal for an experienced engineer who is looking to contribute across multiple departments in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the engineering department with interpreting and responding to Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
- Coordinate with design engineers on technical documentation and deliverables
- Prepare and coordinate both technical and commercial proposals for clients
- Support purchasing and logistics teams in sourcing suppliers and materials. Produce regular project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare, review, and provide feedback on SolidWorks drawings
- Participate in Research & Development projects and support innovation initiatives
- Perform FEA analysis on components
- Manage movement of goods , including shipping, receiving, and internal transfers
- Source suppliers , obtain and evaluate quotes , and negotiate terms
- Monitor inventory levels , ensuring timely procurement and restocking using company's MRP.
- Track shipments and resolve delivery or customs issues when needed
- Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery time, and service
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor degree in Engineering with P.Eng. A Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline) will be given preferential consideration
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience
- Proficient in SolidWorks and technical documentation
- Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes
- Proven ability to coordinate across departments and collaborate within teams
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to relocate to Orillia/Beaverton, (Ontario) area
