Planner for Development Review Process

Town of Halton Hills

Lead development approvals as a Planner with the Town, coordinating projects and providing expert land use advice. This hybrid role combines onsite and remote work to streamline planning processes. Reporting to the Director of Development Review, you'll manage the development approvals process from pre-consultation to building permit applications. Essential skills include conflict resolution, effective communication, and regulatory knowledge, as you collaborate with Council and various stakeholders to facilitate project progress. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all steps of assigned development projects
  • Act as a liaison among stakeholders and town officials
  • Resolve conflicts and monitor project timelines
  • Prepare detailed planning reports for decision-making bodies
  • Conduct site inspections and advise on urban design quality
Requirements:
  • Four-year degree in Urban and Regional Planning
  • Eight years of municipal planning experience
  • RPP membership or eligibility with planning institutes
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Proficiency with planning legislation and computer applications
