Join BrightStart Caledon as a Leadership Volunteer and guide child and family services in your community. This Board Director position focuses on strategic governance and community outreach. The volunteer Board of Directors at BrightStart Caledon needs committed individuals with a vision for enhancing family support services. You will engage in strategic planning, ensure compliance with legal standards, and serve on a committee to advance the organization’s mission. Background in governance, finance, or community service is preferred for this critical role. Key Responsibilities:
- Establish strategic directions for organizational policies
- Engage in developing long-term community impact plans
- Oversee financial and legal compliance
- Collaborate with the Executive Director during sessions
- Attend a minimum of eight Board meetings each year
- Experience in governance or organizational risk
- Strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of DEI practices
- Non-profit sector experience is a plus
