About the Role

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Abbotsford, BC (and surrounding areas)

• We are seeking an ASTTBC Registered Fire Protection Technician to perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire and life-safety systems in accordance with the BC Fire Code, NFPA standards, and ASTTBC requirements.
• Emergency Lights (EM) and Fire Extinguishers (EX) stamps are required, as this role will often support our small business customers, with other work assigned as needed.
• This role involves daily travel to customer sites across the Lower Mainland. We aim to assign work within a reasonable proximity to your home where possible; however, travel throughout the service area is required.
• You will work directly with customers, complete accurate reports, and help ensure their properties remain safe and compliant.
• We are open to both experienced technicians and newer certified candidates who demonstrate strong technical
• ability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of:

• Fire extinguishers
• Fire alarm systems
• Emergency lighting
• Sprinkler and suppression systems (based on certification level)
• Complete clear, detailed inspection reports and deficiency notes in a timely manner
• Communicate professionally with clients and internal team members
• Diagnose system issues and perform repairs as required
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures

Requirements

• ASTTBC Fire Protection Technician Certification (required)
• EM and EX Endorsements required
• Preference will be given to those with AL and WA Endorsements
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working at various job sites
• Experience with Service Trade is an asset.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday with an evening and weekend on-call rotation.
• Overtime and emergency service calls as required
• Overtime paid in accordance with BC Employment Standards
