We are seeking a coop student to join our technology team for 4 (extensible to 8) months. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile team environment and help us advance our cloud-based energy management and information systems.
The Coop student will be primarily responsible for coding and/or testing enterprise applications (backend and frontend) per client requirements.
What will you do?
- Requirements analysis, design, implementation, unit testing, debugging and maintenance of our software applications
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
- Follow our agile software development process
- Other duties as assigned
What qualifications will make you successful?
Essential
- Currently pursuing studies in software engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Knowledge of software development process and technologies
- Experience with Web applications, programming languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS3
- Experience with cloud computing platform and services
- Data modeling and database design experience.
- Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc) and API design for extensibility and portability
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, self-motivation and commitment to quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player is a MUST
- Ability to learn quickly
- Good problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills
Desirable
- Basic understanding of software Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- Experience with working in distributed teams
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket
- Experience in Atlasian tools like Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, and Confluence
