Overview We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java programming and experience with various technologies that enhance web applications. This role requires a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with a strong background in Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices , and Jasper Reports/PDF generation , who also brings hands-on expertise in developing ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant applications . The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining backend systems and generating accessible PDF outputs in compliance with WCAG and Section 508 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications using Core Java, Spring Boot , and Microservices architecture .
- Create and manage complex reports using Jasper Reports , ensuring the output PDFs are ADA compliant .
- Integrate accessibility best practices into backend and document generation workflows.
- Collaborate with UI/UX, QA, and Accessibility teams to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 , Section 508 , and ADA standards.
- Conduct regular code reviews and accessibility audits.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance or accessibility-related issues.
- Develop and maintain APIs and services that support accessible web and document content.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on development experience with Core Java and Spring Boot .
- Strong understanding of Microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Expertise in Jasper Reports and PDF document generation .
- Proven experience in implementing ADA/WCAG/Section 508 compliance in applications or generated documents.
- Familiarity with accessibility auditing tools such as PDF Accessibility Checker , CommonLook , or PAC 3 .
- Experience with tools like JAWS, NVDA , and understanding of screen reader compatibility issues in documents.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and working with relational databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure , or GCP .
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.).
- Accessibility certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS) is a plus.
