Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The Dispatcher will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of freight, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining efficient communication between drivers and clients. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to analyze data effectively to optimize transportation operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and manage logistics.
- Analyze freight data to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain clear communication with drivers via phone systems, ensuring they have the necessary information for their routes.
- Input and update shipment details accurately into the system, ensuring all data entry is precise.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure seamless operations and address any logistical challenges.
Skills
- Proficient in using phone systems with strong phone etiquette for effective communication.
- Strong analytical skills to assess freight data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes and freight types is advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
