Position Summary The Flight Instructor Simulator – Type II Instructor belongs to Airbus Canada Training Centre and conducts flight crew training for various international and internal customers.
Key Responsibilities Conduct the best possible training and checking within Airbus Canada Training to ensure a safe and efficient operation of the Airbus A220 (BD‑500).
Instruct airline crews converting to the Airbus A220 on all operational and technical aspects, using fixed‑base simulators, classroom/virtual classroom, Airbus pilot training devices, FSTDs, OTDs and full flight simulators.
Work on various projects on demand within the Training and Flight Operations organization (TFOS).
Represent Airbus Canada Training and Manufacturer before the customer and proactively identify potential problems and devise solutions.
Ensure standardisation, development and management tasks during the career within Airbus Canada.
Maintain and upgrade competences in accordance with qualification requirements.
Deliver stand‑up lectures to guarantee crews can safely perform all normal and emergency procedures required by airworthiness authorities.
Adhere to Airbus standard policy and standardisation as required by Airbus Flight Training Operations.
Instruct crews within defined time limits and evaluate their progression.
Decide, if necessary, on the need to give additional sessions to achieve the required level of proficiency.
Participate in course development and/or standardisation instruction on demand.
Maintain an awareness of potential compliance risks and commit to act with integrity.
Qualifications Hold or have held a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and Frozen Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or a valid ATPL.
Fluent in English.
Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) as a pilot.
Minimum of 3,000 hours as a pilot.
Minimum of 1,500 hours on Multi‑Pilot Aircraft (MPA).
At least three years of commercial aviation experience as a pilot on FAR 25/CS 25 or FAR 23/CS 23 aircraft in Multi‑Pilot Operation (MPO), preferably on an Airbus aircraft.
Preferred Qualifications Qualified (current) and experienced as Captain and Flight Instructor on the BD‑500.
Synthetic Flight Instructor Authorization or experience as an instructor.
Examiner experience.
Evidence‑based training and competency‑based training assessment expertise.
Project‑management mindset.
Managerial experience.
Experience in flight safety.
Recognised for pedagogy, perseverance, flexibility, curiosity and adaptability.
Available for worldwide business travel.
