Enhance career pathways for YKDFN members as an Employment and Career Counselor. This role focuses on delivering career development services and establishing employer partnerships, driving workforce capacity effectively. As a key member of the Economic Development team, the Employment & Career Counselor develops tailored programming to support Indigenous job seekers. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, career planning abilities, and dedication to community outcomes. You will engage directly with members to provide essential training and counseling. Key Responsibilities:
- Offer career counseling and job readiness support
- Design culturally relevant workshops and educational programs
- Maintain accurate client records and progress documentation
- Build relationships with community organizations and employers
- Plan and lead career fairs and outreach activities
- Relevant diploma or degree with 2 years of experience
- Extensive understanding of career development and Indigenous communities
- Experience in delivering workshops and group facilitation
- Exceptional communication skills and confidentiality principles
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively
