Job Description
As a 3D Programmer at Ubisoft Montreal , you will focus on the rendering systems for the Assassin's Creed HEXE project. You will work closely with the Anvil Pipeline Rendering Team to maintain the stability, efficiency, and adaptability of the engine across current-generation consoles and PC.
What you'll do
- Contribute to the entire rendering engine, including opaque rendering, shadows, post-processing effects, and compute-based systems.
- Support rendering development in close collaboration with the Anvil Pipeline Rendering Team.
- Diagnose project-specific issues, including GPU hangs and complex rendering bugs.
- Evaluate performance and implement optimizations throughout the rendering pipeline.
- Design and implement alternative rendering solutions tailored to consoles with more limited hardware capabilities.
- Support the Toolmode Data Generation pipeline from a rendering perspective.
Qualifications
What you bring to the team
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong understanding of modern real-time rendering systems, including opaque rendering, shadows, post-processing effects, and compute-based pipelines.
- Hands-on experience shipping games on PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X/S , or Nintendo Switch 2 .
- Experience troubleshooting platform-specific rendering issues, including GPU hangs.
- Proficiency with GPU profiling tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Ability to navigate large codebases and effectively contribute to less familiar systems.
- Experience with proprietary game engines such as Anvil is an asset.
- Knowledge of toolchains and data generation pipelines such as Toolmode is an asset.
- Experience collaborating with engine or pipeline teams distributed across multiple studios is an asset.
