Job Summary

CIM Metals is seeking an experienced Millwright / Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills and experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery in a metal fabrication environment.

This position is responsible for keeping CNC equipment, production machinery, and facility systems operating safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will have experience with CNC machines, automation equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical troubleshooting, welding, fabrication, and preventative maintenance programs .

The Millwright will play a key role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement efforts within our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair CNC machinery, fabrication equipment, and automated production systems
• Diagnose mechanical failures and determine root causes of equipment issues
• Repair, replace, and rebuild mechanical components including:
• • Bearings
  • Motors
  • Gearboxes
  • Shafts
  • Belts
  • Chains
  • Pumps
  • Rollers
  • Hydraulic cylinders
  • Pneumatic components
• Perform machine alignments, leveling, and equipment adjustments
• Assist with installation, relocation, and setup of industrial machinery
• Support production teams by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns

CNC & Manufacturing Equipment Support

• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machines and manufacturing equipment
• Perform mechanical repairs on:
• • CNC mills
  • CNC routers
  • Laser cutting machines
  • Waterjet cutting systems
  • Plasma cutting equipment
  • Automated material handling systems
  • Fabrication machinery
• Troubleshoot machine downtime and assist operators with equipment-related issues
• Support equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects

Mechanical & Fabrication Duties

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals
• Use precision measurement tools to align and inspect machinery
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed
• Use hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment safely
• Fabricate brackets, guards, fixtures, and machine components

Safety & Documentation

• Follow all OSHA safety requirements and company safety procedures
• Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures before servicing equipment
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Millwright, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar role
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience maintaining industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining CNC machinery
• Experience in metal fabrication or machining environments
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment
• Experience with automation and robotics systems
• Experience with machine installation and alignment

• Industrial Millwright Certification
• Journeyman Millwright License
• CNC Maintenance Training
• Electrical Troubleshooting Certification
• PLC Training Certification
• Hydraulic Systems Certification
• Pneumatic Systems Certification
• Welding Certification (MIG/TIG preferred)
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Certification
• Forklift Certification
• Rigging & Hoisting Certification
• Crane Operator Certification
