Project & Site Safety Coordinator

We’re hiring a Project & Site Safety Coordinator to support an active ferry terminal construction project.

This is an 8-month, project-based contract role , with strong potential for extension or permanent employment as PIM continues to grow.

This position is primarily focused on project coordination , with additional responsibility supporting site safety.

Compensation

  • $30-$38 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Do

Project Coordination (Primary Focus)

  • Support the Project Manager with daily coordination of construction activities
  • Manage project documentation (RFIs, submittals, reports, schedules)
  • Coordinate with BC Ferries, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Track project progress, timelines, and deliverables
  • Organize meetings, take minutes, and track action items
  • Assist with procurement and logistics

Safety / CSO Responsibilities

  • Act as on-site Construction Safety Officer
  • Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations
  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations
  • Lead safety orientations and toolbox talks
  • Maintain safety documentation and reporting

What You Bring

  • Experience in construction project coordination (civil, marine, or infrastructure preferred)
  • Exposure to or interest in site safety / CSO responsibilities
  • OFA Level 3 First Aid preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel between sites

Project End Date: April 2027
