As a Service Desk Tier 1 Intern some of your responsibilities will include:

• Participate as a member of the National Service Desk, troubleshooting and resolving user support issues through phone, email, in-person support, and remote support tools.
• Provide technical support for industry-standard applications, core business applications, and Doane Grant Thornton proprietary systems.
• Configure and deploy computers, software, printers, and related technology equipment.
• Install, update, and maintain software, patches, and operating system enhancements.
• Troubleshoot hardware and peripheral issues involving computers, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and related equipment.
• Assist with IT asset management, inventory control, and hardware lifecycle activities.
• Coordinate shipping, tracking, and repair activities with external hardware vendors.
• Maintain local office technology inventory and equipment records.
• Support new hire onboarding activities, including workstation setup and basic technology orientation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and support procedures.
• Participate in technology projects, office technology initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with and support members of the National Technology Services team across Canada.
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a post-secondary program in Information
• Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated commitment to learning and professional development.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies, applications, and processes.
• Ability to follow established standards, procedures, and security practices.
• Strong customer service orientation and a desire to help others succeed.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Foundational understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and file management concepts.
• Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
• Ability and willingness to travel to Doane Grant Thornton offices within the province and, occasionally, elsewhere in Canada.
