Position Overview

Investment & Planning Consultant - responsible for discovering members' financial needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring a comprehensive financial planning experience. This role focuses on high net‑worth individuals across multiple Red Deer region branches.

Responsibilities

  • Uncover the full financial needs of the members, provide solutions and/or refer these to the appropriate Advisor.
  • Support and/or facilitate the financial planning experience for the members.
  • Be proactive in pursuing external/internal business opportunities by retention of existing member base, actively soliciting new business, reviewing marketing data to determine new market potential, and leveraging opportunities with existing members through in‑branch/telephone communication.
  • Establish and implement a sales plan that focuses on retaining and attracting new members with mid/high net worth, developing internal referral sources, centers of influence, improving profitability with existing members and developing business from existing members.
  • Identify staff developmental opportunities and provide effective coaching and technical training.
  • Provide coaching & mentoring to assist members of the team with skill development.
  • Ensure all corporate policies, procedures and guidelines are adhered to, including compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements to mitigate risk to the Credit Union and members.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of financial advisory sales experience and thorough knowledge of financial planning, products, policies, procedures and operations.

Education and Training

  • Post‑secondary diploma/degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Investment Funds In Canada (IFIC).
  • MFDA License.
  • Thorough understanding of financial products and services is an asset.

Eligibility for Employment

The selected candidate(s) must successfully pass a criminal background check, reference check and credit check. They must hold a mutual funds license and be registered with Aviso Wealth. The role requires additional due processes to ensure all licensing and registration criteria are met.
