Hello, I’m Ivan, the owner of LakeHaus40, a lakefront short-term rental located in Faraday, just outside Bancroft, Ontario. I’m looking for a reliable, detail-oriented person to handle Airbnb turnovers and help ensure the cottage is fully inspected, restocked, photographed, and ready for every arriving guest. This is more than a standard residential cleaning position. I’m looking for someone who can become a trusted local member of our property-management team and take responsibility for confirming that the cottage meets a consistent guest-ready standard after every turnover. Airbnb turnover responsibilities will include:

• Thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, dining and game spaces
• Vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting surfaces, cleaning mirrors and checking windows for visible marks
• Cleaning kitchen appliances, counters, sinks and the interior of the fridge when required
• Washing, drying and putting away dishes
• Removing garbage and recycling and replacing all liners
• Changing bed linens and making beds to a consistent, attractive standard
• Laundering towels, sheets and other linens as required
• Replacing used towels, toiletries, paper products and other guest supplies
• Restocking coffee, kitchen supplies and other approved amenities
• Arranging furniture, décor and guest materials according to the property’s setup checklist
• Checking outdoor entrance areas and removing any obvious garbage or debris

Each turnover will also include a basic property inspection. You will be expected to:

• Walk through the entire cottage after each guest departure
• Check for damage, missing items, excessive messes or evidence of rule violations
• Look for plumbing leaks, unusual odours, heating or cooling concerns, appliance problems and other maintenance issues
• Confirm that doors and windows are secure and operating properly
• Check that lights, televisions, remotes and essential appliances are working
• Report stains, damaged linens or items that may need replacement
• Identify low inventory before supplies run out
• Notify me immediately of urgent problems or anything that could affect the next guest’s stay

Before leaving, you will be required to take clear, time-stamped photographs of each room and important areas of the property. These photos will document the condition of the cottage after cleaning and confirm that it is ready for check-in. A final checklist will also need to be completed after each turnover. Because this is a short-term rental, availability will depend on bookings. Most turnovers will take place between guest checkout and the next check-in, commonly during the late morning and early afternoon. Some same-day turnovers may require the property to be completely ready within a limited timeframe. Weekend and occasional holiday availability will be important. The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous Airbnb, cottage, hotel or professional cleaning experience
• Have excellent attention to detail and high cleanliness standards
• Be dependable, punctual and able to work independently
• Communicate promptly by text or through a property-management app
• Be comfortable following detailed cleaning, inspection and photo checklists
• Have reliable transportation and be able to travel to Faraday for scheduled turnovers
• Be physically capable of completing cleaning, laundry and light property-preparation tasks
• Understand the importance of guest privacy, property security and confidential access information
• Be willing to advise in advance if a turnover cannot be completed as scheduled

Compensation starts at $25 per hour and may be negotiable based on experience, reliability and the scope of services provided. I am also open to discussing a flat rate per turnover once the cottage’s requirements and expected completion time are established. Additional paid opportunities may occasionally be available for deep cleaning, seasonal preparation, inventory organization, supply pickups, light outdoor cleanup or meeting service providers at the property.
